Honeywell L5200: How to Install a L5100-ZWAVE Card?
This video shows you how to install a Honeywell L5100-ZWAVE card into the Honeywell LYNX Touch L5200 wireless security system.
To install the Honeywell L5100-ZWAVE card into the L5200 open your panel up with by depressing the two tabs located above the 4.7 inch touchscreen display. Make sure there is no power to your Honeywell L5200 wireless security system by unplugging either the LT-CABLE or the power transformer wire and unplug the alarm backup battery.
Now, that there is not power to the Honeywell L5200 system remove the L5100-ZWAVE card from its manufacturer box. The Z-Wave card will have a black female port protruding from it. This will slide directly into the L5200 circuit board. The male end of the L5200 system is located on the opposite end of the control panel speaker and you will notice there are gold stripes on the notch. Gently slide the Honeywell L5100-ZWAVE card into place.
Now that you have installed the Honeywell L5100-ZWAVE card it is time to power the Honeywell L5200 system backup. Plug in either the LT-CABLE or the power transformer wire along with the alarm backup battery. Seal the Honeywell L5200 panel up and call GEOARM to activate your home automation capabilities in the Honeywell Total Connect 2.0 application.
By adding the Honeywell L5100-ZWAVE card to the L5200 system you are unlocking a whole new world. Home Automation Features are now available for your L5200 such as the ability to control lights, locks, thermostats, and garage doors from either your L5200 control panel or from Total Connect 2.0 applications. In order to be able to control from your smart devices you must activate either DIY interactive alarm services or professional interactive alarm monitoring services.
In addition to unlocking professional alarm monitoring and the AlarmNet Total Connect 2.0 applications you also unlock the ability to view a camera on the actual L5200 4.7 inch touchscreen display. If you don't have the Honeywell L5100-WiFi card you will only have the ability to view cameras from Total Connect 2.0 applications.
The Honeywell LYNX Touch L5200 has been discontinued and replaced by the Honeywell LYNX Touch L5210 wireless security system.
