If you have a Honeywell LYNX Touch L5000 wireless security system you may be wondering what options do I have to send alarm signals to a central alarm monitoring station such as GEOARM Security? The first thing you're going to want to make sure of is that you indeed have a Honeywell L5000 and not an L5100 system as these are easily confused.
The best way to tell if you definitely have the L5000 is if you look at the 4 rubber push buttons below the touchscreen you will notice symbols as well as writing. If you only have symbols and you have 4 rubber push buttons than you actually have a Honeywell L5100 system. Phone/VOIP Alarm Monitoring
The first option end users will have for monitoring of a Honeywell L5000 wireless system is via phone/ VOIP alarm monitoring services. Security systems for over 30 years have been connected to central stations using phone lines. Even though phone line systems carry a lower monthly monitoring rate they don't provide end users with the most reliable mode of communications as phone lines can be cut by a possible intruder. If this was to occur the alarm signals will not reach the central station. Lastly, while using a VOIP or regular landline you will not be able to remotely control your system using your smart devices. In order to utilize phone line/ VoIP communications, you must have your installer code to access control panel programming menu. Internet Broadband Alarm Monitoring
The second alarm monitoring option end users have to send signals to a central alarm monitoring station would be using an internet broadband communicator (Honeywell ILP5). In order to utilize the broadband alarm monitoring option consumer must have their installer code to access the programming menu. If the client doesn't have the installer code there still may be a chance we can help you reset the installer code remotely. If you do have your installer code than you are in luck. Keep in mind this is not the most reliable mode of communication to an alarm monitoring station because if an intruder cuts your power or internet lines your L5000 system will still sound but, it will not actually send the signals to our central station receivers.
Cellular/Dual Path Alarm Monitoring
If you are looking for a more reliable way of communication it would be via cellular or dual path alarm monitoring services. Unfortunately, the L5000 system is a discontinued product that Honeywell no longer manufactures and they never made a compatible 3g/4g cellular communicator for this panel. That means that if you are looking to have cellular monitoring you will have to upgrade the L5000 panel. All of your other wireless sensors and devices will still work with the new panel. 4) You can purchase a Resolution Products RE524X wireless to wireless translator and utilize just about any other all-in-one wireless security systems such as Qolsys, DSC or Interlogix security systems with a cellular or dual path communications. The RE524X works by translating the Honeywell RF frequency into the other companies frequency allowing for integration.
