To install the Honeywell Lyric thermostat the first step is to make sure your HVAC system is powered down and check for any paint gaps or wallpaper tears if there are any corrections needed please take care of them before mounting the Lyric thermostat back plate. If you want to just cover any damage you can simply cover it up using the Lyric thermostat back plate. Next, with the wires bundled together run them through the back of the Lyric thermostat back plate not one at a time. With the HVAC wires running through the back it is time to mount the Lyric back plate. To do this you want to make sure the Lyric back plate is level by using the pre-installed level than with a pencil you want to mark the wall where you will insert the screws. Now, you can screw in the self anchoring screws securing the Lyric back plate. Continuing, you want to closely follow the instructions within the Honeywell Lyric app based on your unique wiring setup that you have followed while removing your old thermostat as to how the new Lyric thermostat should be wired. To insert or remove wires push down gently the terminal tab with a ballpoint pen release the tab to lock each wire into place. Each wire should be inserted at about a quarter of an inch. Make sure that you also follow along with the correct tab settings for 1 wire or 2 and also whether you should use R or R & RC. Now that you have installed your Honeywell Lyric thermostat you can turn the power back on to your HVAC system at the breaker box. During the power up process your Lyric thermostat should glow and pulse for up to 3 minutes. When the thermostat is finished it should display a unique network name select ok. Everything from now on will be controlled and manged from the Honeywell Lyric app on your smart device.
