Can the Lyric Controller Communicate Cell Only

Yes, the Honeywell Lyric controller is able to solely communicate with a cellular communicator. If you disable the Lyric controller Wi-Fi communicator and want to be able to transmit alarm signals to the professional central alarm monitoring station you must add one of the Lyric-3G AT&T or the Lyric-CDMA cellular communicators.

To turn off the Lyric Wi-Fi communicator you would do so via the installer programming menu Security > Tools > enter 4 digit installer code default is "4112" > Program > Communicator > Toggle Communication Path to Cellular Only.

*If you decide to disable the Lyric Controller Wi-Fi communicator you should know that the front mounted camera will not continue to work. The Honeywell Lyric controller front camera require's an internet connection to continue to send a push notification and emails via Total Connect 2.0. *Make sure you notify your alarm monitoring company before attempting this.

Also, in an uncommon application, it's good to know that if you have your Lyric controller installed outside the reach of the internet connection and turn off the Wi-Fi communicator but, still have Honeywell IP cameras connected you will not be able to view the cameras from the Honeywell Lyric Controller touchscreen.

In final, if you turn off the Lyric Controller Wi-Fi communicator module you don't need to worry Z-Wave Home Automation devices will still able to transmit their information to Total Connect 2.0 using only the cellular communicator option.
